Pleated core element
The core within the Pleat heat exchanger is the pleated (folded) internal element, in which the heat transfer occurs. A thin long sheet of metal is corrugated and folded. When sealed at each end, it becomes a compact block with surface area corresponding to approx. 15 plate heat exchanger plates. A maximum of sheet area is kept exposed, not covered by gaskets or used for other functions, and this secures an optimal cost/ utilization ratio from a thermal point of view. The production of this block goes over several stages.

Ready to be installed in the element frames
The element frames enclose the Pleated element, and provide fluid interface and functionality, such as gaskets and stacking properties. These frames are moulded of a polypropylene composite, allowing for unlimited functionalities and features, without increasing production time or price.
These frames convert the pleated element into a product, ready to be installed in a heat exchanger.
In comparison to conventional plate heat exchangers, these frames surround the Pleat element, adding rigidity and making it robust and ready for being handled in the field.
In order to obtain long term sealing, the frames has deep fixed gasket grooves, both inward towards the element, and external towards other complete elements and end plates. These fixed grooves allow for predictable gasket conditions, which is essential for lasting tightness.
All gaskets are made of materials suited for the area of use, and are designed for long service life. The service gaskets are easy to replace, as they have a tight fix, and additional knobs for proper positioning, and will therefore stay in place.
