The Pleat Evaporator shows signs of reducing the energy consumption pr m³ clean water to be in range of Reverse Osmosis (RO). The results show indications of combining the robustness from the thermal processes, reduced scaling, and the low cost for RO, hence having signs of a game changer technology when fully commercialized.
